MSgt Joshua E. Russo is the First Sergeant, 103d Maintenance Group, Bradley Air National Guard Base, East Granby, Connecticut. His duties are to provide sound advice to the Commander on a wide range of topics including discipline, esprit de corps, mentoring, well-being, career progression, recognition, and professional development of all assigned enlisted members of the squadron. MSgt Russo is from Waterbury, Connecticut and joined the Air Force in September 2005. He graduated from the satellite, wideband, and telemetry course at Fort Gordon, Georgia in July 2006. He then spent his first three years at F.E. Warren as a Satellite Communications Technician. In 2009 he transferred to the First Combat Communications Squadron, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where he served as a Transmissions Systems Technician and deployed to Liberia in support of Operation Onward Liberty and France in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn. In 2012, while at Ramstein he was selected by 3d Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Franklin, to serve as his Enlisted Aide. In March 2015, after nine years of active duty he transitioned to the Connecticut Air National Guard as a Radio Frequency Transmissions Supervisor. In his civilian capacity, the Master Sergeant is an executive chef for the Schwarzman Center at Yale University. Prior to his current position the Master Sergeant was the First Sergeant, 103d Air Control Squadron, Orange Air National Guard Station, Orange, Connecticut.
