Chief Master Sergeant Stephen Jeffers is the Command Chief of the 104th Fighter Wing, Barnes Air National Guard Base, Mass. He is the principal enlisted advisor to the Wing commander on the effective utilization, professional development, training, readiness, and welfare of the wing’s force and families Chief Jeffers began his service to the Air National Guard in 2004. His career includes assignments in the 104th Fighter Wing, Massachusetts Air National Guard, and the National Guard Bureau. Additionally, he has held key national leadership positions throughout all aspects of domestic operations, to include orchestrating response to Hurricane MARIA, multiple national level responses to civil disturbance, and exercise planning. Additionally, he has led modernization efforts in support of not only domestic operations, but also contingency wartime capabilities. Throughout this period, he has held decisive leadership positions at the team, flight, squadron, group and Headquarters Air Force levels. Chief Jeffers has numerous combat deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, FREEDOMS SENTINEL, and the Resolute Support Mission. He has been activated on multiple deployments serving the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Prior to assuming his current position, Chief Jeffers served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, 104 Mission Support Group.
